Mahmoud Khedr
Innovator, Mental Health America Board Member & Advocate

Mahmoud Khedr is an Egyptian-American innovator, youth mental health advocate, and suicide survivor passionate about holistic, culturally grounded healing. Drawing on his own experience with depression, anxiety, and substance use, he co-founded FloraMind, which delivers culturally relevant mental health education programs that have reached more than 15 million people globally.
Mahmoud co-led MTV's Hidden Healers campaign, a first-of-its-kind digital series centering culturally grounded healing practices in BIPOC communities, which reached more than 10 million people, earned a Shorty Gold Award, and launched the first $1 million Hidden Healing Fund. He co-hosted the first youth-led mental health and social media summit with Mental Health America and advises technology companies and governments on equitable youth mental health.
He sits on the board of Mental Health America — the country's largest mental health organization — and was appointed to the 988 National Steering Committee guiding the national suicide and crisis lifeline. His leadership has been recognized by the White House, President Clinton, and Forbes.
